When I was doing my internship, I asked my boss if they also have any job vacancies for me.
He simply stated that he didn’t have any vacancies in his department.
I was not matured enough to comment on anything. I just looked at him, smiled, and came out from his room with a pale face.
I later came to know that he hired two graduates with strong references and one of those is a nephew of my boss.
I literally felt bad and started applying to other companies, and within a couple of months, I got a much better offer.
Always remember:
1. You may be the best candidate and still not get selected.
2. Unfortunately the probability of getting a job with referrals is always higher.
3. You weren't rejected, you were redirected.
4. Your value does not decrease based upon someone's inability to see your worth.
Agree or anything to add?
