Trying to change careers without any luck?
Try this strategy - Approach the CEO directly!
Your aim is to get a "REFERRAL"
Of course, you can also ask for your friends, family, relatives, or Recruiters to help!
Here's how you do:
1. Research a list of 10-15 job titles & JDs
2. Make a list of 10 companies in your *current* industry
3. Make a list of 10 companies in your *target* industry
4. Take action - Run a LinkedIn search for the job title you're aiming for
5. Click the "All Filters" button
6. For "Past Companies" filter, add the 10 companies from your current industry
7. For "Current Companies" filter, add the 10 companies from your target industry
Done!
Now you have a list of people working in your target job title who successfully made the transition.
Use some scripts that I will provide and contact them.
Consult them on how they have been down the path.
They can refer you to a job, advise you or point out mistakes you should avoid.
Think of their strategies worked, and help you learn how to position yourself.
I always say you should only take advice from people who already have what you want.
This is how you find those people and job referrals.
Don't forget to rely on LinkedIn to build your network and a better relationship.
